Paid for already, how much will AA reimburse if I show them how badly they fucked up my itinerary with their plane malfunction? Ended up needing a hotel room for the night of the delay, then another hotel room in a city I wasnt supposed to stay in since I missed my flight out of the city bc of the delay and also missed an excursion
Aaaaand...🤷🏻♂️
Was this due to weather or some other issue? Were the other flights on the same ticket ?
What credit card did you use? CSR will reimburse up to $500 for 6 hour delays. A points blog posted on it recently. Seemed pretty straight forward.

Basically trying to decide if its worth my time putting an email together showing them each way they screwed me or if they would only end up comping me the hotel the night of the delay and nothing else
There’s probably a website that says. They have one for when they lose your luggage
In airline-speak, this os the “contract of carriage”. AA’s can be seen here https://www.aa.com/i18n/customer-service/support/conditions-of-carriage.jsp
If it’s weather related you are out of luck.
What does your contract and the law say?
Due to engine malfunction, got to runway and had to go back, and no other flights were with different airline in different country
They are not obligated to reimburse for any losses. This is covered under the contract of carriage
However, they are required to provide a hotel if it resulted in an overnight stay, and they will also likely provide compensation as a gesture
Be concise and fact-based in your complaint
Do you have status with them at all? That will determine a lot.
It’s critical to know if the other flights were on the same reservation as the AA flights or not. If they were, then it’s up to AA to rebook, if they’re separate they won’t do much if anything - this is a risk of booking separate tickets with any pair of airlines.
You can always ask. I was in Hong Kong my Cathay Pacific evening flight was moved to the morning, and I missed my connecting United flight in JFK, separate itinerary, and Cathay actually just bought me a new flight. $200 made me a fan for life. Not that I fly in HK a lot though
