Travelling to NYC in November for the first time and there's a reasonably priced airbnb in Central Harlem. Is that a safe area for 4 females to roam around late at night? I also read on Reddit that short term rentals in NYC are illegal...? Is that true? Should I avoid Airbnbs?

Just finished my degree in managerial science and have a minor in marketing and a Sales certificate. Have had 4 different management jobs. I lateraled from a small firm to regional big law last year. I was told that my offer was commensurate with class year (5th year). The firm recently increased first year salary, with a 5% increase for all other attorneys. My original salary was equal to the new first year salary. The difference between my new salary and a first year is now $10k. I think it is fairly obvious that the hiring partner was not truthful with me. How would you address this? Is another lateral move my only option?
