American miles are typically more valuable while Delta has a better soft product
Whichever has more overall flights out of your Home airport
American! Love their new planes...and the Biscoff
It depends on where you are and where you’re going. Chicago to Fargo? American. Albuquerque to Seattle? Delta
DD1 has it right. (UAL 1K so no horse in this race, SWA is my number 2 usually)
Delta
AA. Rising star.
delta for customer service
@B1 you obviously don’t live on the west coast
OP if you are on the west coast, do not fly American. Delta, SW, or bust
Yeah I’m on the east coast. But I assume both American and Delta fly the route OP is thinking of - so it doesn’t matter where we are.
Atlanta is home base but don’t anticipate staying here for more than a year and a half and don’t want that to be only reason. I was set for delta then started reading American miles go further. Also the delta flights are more expensive and can’t get them with project budget unless it’s 4 weeks in advance
OP if you plan to stay on the east coast, I think American gives you way more leverage than Delta, assuming you’re flying around here. Agree with others that hubs are important but if you plan to leave ATL, then it’s less of an issue.
Trying to pre-book flights by a month just to use Delta and get points seems like a pain to me, but I’m also not one that counts miles.
Just miles
If layovers and client arrival times don’t matter then fly American
Delta if you are in ATL
American!
