I feel burnt out by how ruthless the tech industry in US is, but I also know I’m making much more money than people outside of tech or consulting.

How do you adjust your WLB?
I’m so burnt out that I wish I could yell at people who were not kind or supportive to me, but those people often unfortunately were in position of power.
I don’t like unkindness, but my anger is just very bottled up…

I interviewed with a top big law firm last week for a Senior Project Manager role. I felt fairly good and confident post the interviews. Sadly I was not given the offer. I remember the Director mentioned that I was over qualified for the position. I’m currently a Consultant… I’m guess I’m not sure how to take the “over qualified” response. I made a couple errors at a new job. An important document to be distributed had wrong information on it, which was proofread by 2 other people. Then a couple of typos in emails, the person micromanaging me told me to send out but I didn’t fix the errors. Failed to meet a deadline but completed 95%. I was written up over all this last week, fired this week. There’s a lot more to this but I think it’s because the DM doesn’t like me.
