I’m currently in a lease admin type role, in commercial real estate. I make a base salary of $50.5K with about $9k in bonuses. I’ve continuously received 7-10% raises over the last 3 years. I anticipate getting a promotion this year and would like to get closer to $60k for my base salary. I’m the only person in my role at the company and have been a key person in developing our team as we look to expand. Is this unreasonable? Is there a normal increase given with promotions? Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?

My employers' CEO just announced that they just received $7 million from investors. He wants to use that money to offer incentives to employees that hussle and drive more revenue for the company. We're not sure what those incentives look like yet, but here are some post-announcement rumors from my co-workers:

Cash bonuses, raises, profit-sharing, company equity, 401k match, etc.

I finally got a raise (after 10 years) from 45k to 50k with less than 10k in incentives while others who are just starting at lower positions make more than me..I want to bring this up but don’t want to come off in a bad way considering they finally gave me a raise this year.

Compared to 40-50% in other places. Crazy hours feb-apr, 40 apr-jul, 45 in Aug, maybe 50-60 that last week of aug/ early sept. <40 post 9/15. We have a need at the senior level to fill a gap. Seniors help is needed everywhere so if your interested, come cash in your chips!

When and how do you push back on people senior to you? Fifth year dealing with supersenior associate (11th year) who completely lacks good judgment & common sense. One of those super smart but impractical types. As just one example, he recently called me to tell me to call someone who’s on vacation and ask them to send a calendar invite. I offered to send myself but apparently that wouldn’t work (presumably because it would be efficient & make sense.) At what point (and how) do I Just Say No?

I'm at a target uni for Big 4 accounting. I applied for and received an offer for Summer 2023 Risk&FinancialAdvisory - Technology internship w Deloitte. I'd like to get into Big 4 consulting ideally when full-time. I'm an engineering student - I'm not going to be interested in IT audit. Summer 2023 will be the summer after sophomore year, so I'll be declining the full-time return offer and I'll be looking for a different internship after junior year.

I’m new to the cybersecurity industry, professionally speaking (I did/do a lot for family and close friends). I’ve completed a boot camp, which I regret doing. I have certifications for companies such as Qualys and ISC2, but no CompTIA security+ yet. I tailor my resume to position descriptions. It’s been a month or so, without any offers. I am a european law student and I will try to get to do a J.D. in the US (i want to move there) and I wanted to know if it‘s possible to work next to your law studies in the US. I have been working between 20 and 50 hours while studying (it‘s exhausting af but i need the money lol) and I wondered how the situation is in the USA.

I’m an MS Management Student graduating in June 2023. I applied to over 40 positions within the Big 4/MBB and even with extensive networking, I haven’t heard back from any really. I have an offer from a pretty well-known but less prestigious Consulting Firm, but I’m wondering what my chances even are of going Big 4/MBB if I’m not a campus hire. Will they even consider me for an experienced hire a year or two down the road if they showed no interest this time? Any advice welcome!
