16 yo with ADHD and major anxiety and 13 yo with ADHD and just a touch of anxiety. Two very different kids and emotionally draining in their own different ways. And I’m the primary wage earner and my husband just doesn’t “get” my older one and how to manage her. It’s exhausting
Have a 4 1/2 year old with Tetrasomy 18p - development delays but thankfully not severe. Gets therapy - SP, OT, PT - weekly, thankfully they go to her daycare. It has been a challenge as the primary coordinator, monitor, enforcer but she's my priority over work. Harder now that she's getting older and the 4-nager/18p behavior issues are in full force - not always an easy start to the day but I've learned to just take my time. The team will not fall to pieces of I come in late or have to leave early. Major adjustment these last few years but we are all better for it. I've certainly learned more patience!
No, but my partner has a special needs 2yo girl. His wife is a SAHM, and he comes into the office Mon/Tue and WFH Wed/Th/Fri.
Wow. That’s one helluva set up.
Everyone on the team makes it work. I bet you can do this too.
Unilateral hearing loss and microtia. He’s tracking developmentally, so in daycare doing his toddler thing, but I do get it. There are surgeries, ENT visits, school district conversations and more in our future. Right now, the battle is getting him to wear his hearing aid. And also to eat his chicken nuggets.
Thanks, all. I have two young sons on the asd spectrum and finding the juggle really hard to manage lately.
