I have recently joined EY SaT group as senior consultant recently in Netherlands. I’m tripple masters in MS economics, MBA and MS business analytics. Have 4 YOE in different industries but no M&A experience specifically. Any ideas what company should be offering me? I’ll be working as expert on commercial due diligence, FDD and valuation teams and doing automation alongside. is it wise to demand higher salary or promotion soon after I have proven that I can work and do it better than most?EY

As someone who started an MBA in 2009, I can tell you things could be worse and will get better
As someone who starts their mba in the fall this definitely weighs on me. I try to remind myself that you can’t time your mba anymore than you can time the market. You made the decision because it was what you thought was best at the time. I’d like to believe what others here have said about it all smoothing out in the long term.
Networking is a main part of an MBA. In all honesty it might be more important than the degree itself. I will say that the degree gives you a limited set of useful skills (and the world judges your capabilities by the name of the school on the degree) but it’s up to you to know what you need to get out of the experience and what to do to get the things you identified that you need.
In terms of school work, just focus on passing. No one in the business world asks to see your grades and they are only Important if you’re planning on continuing your education further.
If your concerns are the Job market, keep networking, but you might have to open up your scope a bit. Some markets are highly competitive. You might want to consider looking at nearby states or hybrid jobs that allow you to be remote part of the time - depending on what’s possible in your industry. There are lots of possibilities to consider. Good luck.
Yeah I’m at a M7 and internship recruiting outcomes have been abysmal for more than half of us. Consulting spots plummeted this year, and tech is virtually nonexistent
A1 and SA1: Not all consulting numbers are out yet, but from my observations, numbers are <33% or 50% of last year's, depending on the firm. Only 1 firm took about the same number, but who knows about the return offer rate. Those with prior consulting or heavy STEM experience (think engineering) also seemed to be preferenced. :/
