Congratulations! Totally understand where you're coming from. This isn't an answer really but sharing my thoughts – As the owner of a company I generally like to trust my staff and let them work around their life commitments, as long as everything gets done and on time, and everyone communicates effectively. We don't have a firm policy on wfh vs in office. I end up going to the office 5 days a week though and have been doing that since my son was 10 months, as I have to manage people and it's hard when you don't see someone every week. Just to give you another perspective – I've tried working from home (we have a nanny too) and honestly it's hard. My son knows I'm there and it's really hard to get anything done because he keeps banging on the door and crying for me and it breaks my heart to not be able to let him in when I'm on a call or rushing to a deadline. He's nearly 2 now and it hasn't gotten easier so honestly I prefer to go to the office (arrive when I need to and leave when I need to) so that when I'm with my son I can just be with him and give him all my attention. Perhaps this is just my son's temperament but I'd make sure you have a suitable arrangement for where you work as it is really difficult to need to hide from your child and nanny when you are stressed about getting your work done and only want to hang out with them!
