Iâm prior military and ex-BCG. Iâm from a similar scenario, did not even try to recruit MBB when leaving service, went a different route.
Yes, itâs possible, use networking to get access.
Youâll need to be a stellar performer in the big 4 and youâll almost certainly come in at the MBA level even if youâve been promoted in the Big 4.
FWIW, now after spending time in the Big 4, I think itâs worth it to go for it if you are ambitious.

Thanks! My MBA doesnât feed into those firms, so itâs def a stretch and I donât have a strong network there, but I can do the work.
Thanks!
What did you do in the military OP? My anecdotal experience with veteran MBBers is that it tilts strongly towards âhardâ stuff. The vast majority seem to be either SF, SEALs, infantry, or submariners. I was one of a handful of pilots that I met, we were definitely under-represented.
I can only think of one ship driver and one supply guy.
I was EOD - professional problem solver and high stakes puzzle-solving champion. Iâve seen the spec ops/pilot communities pretty strongly represented in consulting, IB, and b school. My current firm loves Navy Nuke officers.
