Any recommendations for sites to do temp doc review work? I've looked at places like Axiom and Latitude Legal, but they seem to be more hands-on positions rather than reviews for responsiveness and/or privilege.

For you experts... I’m a first-timer (pun!) buying lux watches. I’m looking at an updated model of a JSC (geographic), to be released sometime Q4 this year. MSRP is 12k few questions:
1) what is realistic price ballpark from an AD (I’m not in a hurry)
2) any advice for reaching out to ADs, especially given this isn’t yet released? I.e., any common mistakes to avoid?
3) MSRP includes leather strap, and looking at current model prices, metal strap adds ~2k to price. Sound right?

I’m currently a 2nd year associate in commercial finance. I’ve realized I don’t enjoy a a strictly transactional practice. I enjoyed litigation matters as a summer (particularly the adversarial nature). Also, love talking and advising clients. I don’t want the litigation lifestyle and appreciate the in-house opportunities of transactional. Assuming that I could switch (or lateral), I’m thinking I may enjoy employment (and the ability to defend and train/advise). I appreciate any insight.

I'm lateraling to another firm because frankly I think the management of this one is terrible, but the people (and individual partners) I actually work with are awesome. I've only been here for about 18 months, so I imagine that short time frame will make it extra awkward 😬

How do you deal with a Midlevel who tells the partner you’ll cover for them, but gives you less than 24 hours notice they’ll be gone without asking if you can cover? I am a 2nd year and my spouse is a higher up in engineering in big tech. He has some (but not a lot of) sway in outside counsel and could make some intros to in house counsel.

My firm will gladly use my connections for their own gain, so I’m making sure that if/when this situation comes, I take full advantage of it.

Looking for tips on short term and long term strategy.

Just lateraled into big law from a boutique corp firm. I’m a mid level. I’m struggling to understand what is and isn’t billable. Do people actually bill reading emails? How do you describe that? Anything else I should bill (and how should I describe these things) that aren’t as obviously as like actively drafting?

If you’re a new transactional third year, and you didn’t catch a mistake that the partner did, but the mid-level, partner and opposite side did not catch it as well, is it still ultimately your fault?

Current firm really wants me to stay, counters that it will try to get me salary as close to big law offer and give me complex work. Stay at ID firm or accept big law offer?

Wait. Do attorneys negotiate salary? 3rd year associate in big law. I’m not referring to lateraling.

Did anyone here turn down an in-house role for reasons other than money? I have SEVERE cold feet about succeeding in-house and it being more stressful and “busy” than firm life. Help!
