Any sage advice for when you have to track down or chase people who have overdue payments? I feel like I am too forgiving or gracious and it is maybe not the best. Thanks!

First, maybe have a clause in your contract or in the invoice note saying that you'll charge interest for late payments, or something to that effect. It'll scare them a little.

Also, you could use an invoice platform that has a 'reminder' option or send a reminder a few days before the payment's due. (Remind them of the late fee too.)

Finally, you could give them more payment options. For example, PayPal or Stripe integrated in the invoice or email link. No excuses not to just tap and pay!

Edit: these are all things to do BEFORE the chase begins lol apologies if these tips aren't what you're looking for.

Be gracious but firm. I also find that using the statement “this is my primary source of income” tends to result in faster processing

Hello - thinking of starting a small side coaching practice. Could use a bit of help because I've never thought about opening a side hustle but times are tough with two kids in college.

1. What is the best approach to collecting your fee? Each session? Pay the package cost upfront,? Other, and if so, what is it?
2. How do you collect it? Venmo? Credit card?
3. Do you have to register your business?

Thank you in advance for any guidance.
