Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks in advance!

Hey, I have 4 YOE and currently a manager at PwC and have been managing teams for a little over a year now. My role mainly consists of leading teams of engineers deliver MVPs to our clients.
If I wanted to exit to Google or Facebook (Meta) what role would align for me? I was looking at engineering manager roles but unsure if that’s too senior for me.

What is the culture like, type of work and reputation of Capco in the Data & Analytics space?
I have some good ex colleagues who moved over there and also looked up on LinkedIn and see lots of seemingly smart and accomplished people in their D&A team in the UK.
I'll ask my ex colleagues too, but wanted to see if people here have any opinion or information on this too.
TIA
Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?

IKEA desk hack:
1. Buy the electric standing desk mechanism from IKEA
2. Buy a nice hardwood tabletop in exactly the size you want (eg. From a kitchen worktop supplier)
3. Screw one into the other
Bought a LG ultragear 27GP850 with the stipend - never been happier!! Make sure you also have good lighting for your desk too :)
Buy a ps5
A standing desk might be worth it for your back
Worth noting that Wayfair is an e-commerce platform, not a a supplier. I had to wait 6 weeks for the correct instructions to be sent with my table 🤦🏼♂️
Get a refurbished Herman Miller or Humanscale chair - best you can buy and you can pick them up for £200-300. They also hold their value if you look after them which is a bonus!
I got an EZ Desk (electric) from a website EZ shopper - thought it was gonna be dubious but actually seems great quality
Also got delivered either next day or two days
During lockdown, I made a few upgrades and would recommend (in this order)
Herman Miller Sayl chair - about half the cost of an Aeron/Embody but performs about 80% as well
Flexispot standing desk - pretty decent quality, pair it with a cheap IKEA top and you've got yourself a decent standing desk
Ultrawide monitor - super helpful for excel modelling

Wayfair is quite good for furniture! Modern stuff that isn’t too expensive. Much better than IKEA.
I essentially got my setup from wayfair and it’s served me well. I also made sure I got a smaller second monitor so I could travel and not lose effectiveness only having one screen.
Check out IKEA. Better than Wayfair as you can go to a bricks and mortar site and ascertain quality for yourself. I’d say go somewhere more specialist for a chair though, and do some research - your back will thank you!

hahahah D1 & SPM1 … fight
I agree with Ikea. Get the leg frame and the top separately and you can then manage the size of the surface in tune with your room. Chair is more difficult as a lot of it is personal choice and work style just make sure it’s proper criteria ( 5 point base, adjustable back and seat etc. ) monitor check our currys 27.” Is perfect size if you have space.
I recommend getting a Herman Miller office chair. Absolutely life changing at home. Never appreciated it enough until pandemic hit and I worked on an IKEA chair for 1 year.
Agreed, £400 second hand, no brainer
Get a 24 hour operator chair
Wayfair 😏
