Yes, time is right now. If the interest rates come done there will again be a mad rush with multiple offers and make it difficult to find the home of your choice.
I have been asking same question. My husband and I want to buy and some realtors stated: prices will lower more so, we can just wait a little more or buy now. Housing is quite shortage here in Florida. Hoping new houses starting to be built soon…
I recommend buying now and negotiate a 2 year rate buy down as a seller concession. I don't think FL (or TX) prices are going down for homes that are in move-in-ready condition. There are 1000s of new homes being built in my area (Central FL) and they can't build fast enough to keep up with the demand. If you are looking for a fix & flip, I'd wait - maybe - but if you are going to live there a few years, buy now.
Prices are very unlikely to go down in Prosper or Celina. Only speculation now is that the interest rates may come down considering this is an election year. So even more opportunity for investors to jump in and hence the price might go up.
If you are looking to buy a home to live for yourself (not an investment property) just go for it if you like the home in the DFW market.
There is a big push to come to the office in Dallas office. We have social Fridays. Now we have people coming in 2 to 3 times a week.
If prices haven’t come down yet after 1 year of high interest rates, then I bet you they will not go down when interest rates decrease later this year. Time to buy is now, you’ll get lots of incentives from builders.
My brother lives in Celina and he bought his house 4 yrs ago. His house value doubled already and new houses and commercial/business are booming. I love his community (light farms), school district. The proximity to Prosper, Frisco, Dallas area is a win. Try to visit and good luck!
