Any thoughts on firms that have a relaxed culture and provide good WLB, less than 50+ a week? I have a friend who is currently a director at a healthcare system who is looking to spend more time with family.

Is WLB in consulting even a thing? Ive never heard of that.

I think generally you're more likely to find shorter weeks for firms/practices that focus on activation and implementation work, where the projects last a very long time

Guidehouse! Depends on what sector though. I’m in public health

Willis Towers Watson generally has under 50 hrs/week

Highly recommend BAH for that

Try west Monroe partners

Slalom is pretty good wlb

Guidehouse. I’m in Commercial Healthcare and average 50 hours/week

Consulting or industry? Find it pretty hard to work under 50 hours in consulting given less travel time and more wfh time.

Either is fine. Open to any suggestions

I work at Deloitte (2.5 years) in the Advisory Cyber - Identity practice, work and bill (for the most part) 45 hours per week, get great snapshots, feel I contribute to the team, and have a great work life balance. I’d imagine though that you’ll get vastly different responses across multiple organizations, depending on your project management team. personally, I can’t speak highly enough of mine.

LMI has a great culture. Our Health Service Line works with CMS. It’s a supportive company that respects and appreciates its staff.

I don't hate my bank/team but I do feel limited by the bank (since obviously reputation/size dictates the deals the bank can win)

I’m a 2nd year and effectively just ran a deal on my own with the partner. It ran smoothly, I got praise from the partner, and the partner said that they trust me to do most stuff without their sign off (so no need to check with them in future unless I’m really unsure). Generally there is one or two mid levels above me, and I find it way harder to do my job when they are managing me. They like to keep me on the bench, get me to do minor tasks and don’t let me take responsibility and ownership.
