As a public h.s. teacher, I see how the k-12 education system breeds the wrong mindset for students to reach their highest potential. They're taught to memorize facts to take a test and the carrot on the stick is their grade- which is an extrinsic motivator. They chase the "A" and will cheat at any moment to get it. They're taught to avoid failure which in turn reinforces the idea to stay inside their comfort zone when real growth happens when they step outside of it. Thoughts?

I’m sure this won’t come across well but I have to say it… my husband and I make good money (about $600k combined) and are grateful for it but these Biden tax increases are going to kill us. I teach PreK in a public school. Our state allows PreK programs to nap without masks if proper ventilation is provided. I have 16 children, a minimum of 3 feet apart, no masks, with two LOUD air filters, two tiny windows open, the outside and hall door open, at average in 72-76 degrees. Happy Saturday, y’all! I work for a boutique consulting firm that models itself after Big 4. Curious to know what first year analyst are doing as far as average number of assessments per month, how many projects, etc. Not looking to move because I love my company, and I feel like my WLB is great, but interested to know how we compare to the larger firms.

Does anyone know acceptance rates at big 4 type firms versus boutiques? Most assume big 4 are harder to get into and more prestigious than boutiques or lower level firms. I’m at a mid tier firm so I’m fairly neutral in this. I’ve worked with highly intelligent, and highly incompetent, consultants from either type of firm. Would love to hear your thoughts on this and any data you have. Sometimes I wonder why big 4 is so highly revered when work products I review are less than stellar.
