Step one: Get up early enough. Lol seriously though, build the routine. You can’t jump right into 1 hour + workouts and expect it to stick. No matter what, get up and do a 5 minute run for a week or two, then 10, then 15, etc. By doing this, you will build the routine and it will be no problem at all waking up and working out for 45 minutes to an hour, or however long you want!
I have my alarm away from my bed, after that I go straight to the kitchen and drink a glass of water and start brewing coffee. Also a big thing is to pre pack the night before. Takes me about three weeks to make it feel normal.
I wake up at 4:30. Leave house by 5. Get to gym by 6 (gym is near work). Weights and cardio take me about 1.5-2 hours (my breaks can be shorter). Quick shower (I don't really do my hair and go into work with wet hair - it is what it is - I rather get my workout in - if I'm seeing a client I'll do my hair). I forgot to mention, I microwave my eggs in microwaveable container and eat them at stop lights to save time on my way to work - before I hit the freeway.
I go to orange theory and they charge 12$ for a no show. It’s enough of a monetary incentive for me to get out of bed.
I do morning workouts every other day so I can get more sleep on the days in between. Makes it more sustainable for me, as I'm not a morning person. My workouts are 7:30-8:30 and I shower at the office. At my desk by 9. I am NOT a morning person but it's been working for me!
Sign up for a class/personal training to get into the routine. I’m not a morning personal at all, but if I sign up for a class it gives me a reason to get out of bed :) also finding a workout that you love is also beneficial!
