Denmark, Norway and Sweden late June early July. Friendly people mostly English speaking and amazing things to see. Oh yeah and about 20 hours of daylight at that time of year...
National parks! We did the Grand Canyon, Arches, and Yellowstone one summer when the kids were those ages.
New Zealand then. Milford Sound. Helihiking a glacier (before they’re all gone in 10 years). Queenstown is a hotbed of outdoor sports year round. Kiwi birds. Plus all of the Lord of the Rings locations. Rented a car and spent two weeks just in the South Island. Something for everyone
Tanzania + Zanzibar would be a fun Africa safari option for kids that age.
I would take to a third world country (not India) to show what real problems are like and how far money can go.
Australia
Barcelona is a great family destination
I need guidance too. Live in SF Bay area. What are good drivable locations within 3-4 hours. No Disney.
Yeah, Australia is awesome. We went there in December, 2016. I should have added that to the list.
