I had a job I loved for 8 years, but the salary sucked. I had to work a second job. Between the 2 jobs I was working 7 days a week (and for a couple of years also in school full time). The depression and toll it took on me physically was real. I hated to leave my job and it took almost a year, but I landed at a place making 100k+ a year. I'm no longer stressed and the healthiest I've ever been. Im working only 40-45 hours a week but actually using 4 weeks PTO each year.
It's hard and the search sucks, but there are opportunities that are out there that can provide financial stability and work life balance. You just have to keep looking and not give up hope while doing it. 💜
This is the ideal situation. And my hope is we all get to experience this. So happy for you that it's your reality.
I've had a second job at times and it's just really difficult to handle. I was able to keep some semblance of sanity just because my second jobs tended to be seasonal. Or they were contract gigs that would end at a certain point. Just knowing that the stress of working that many hours a day would eventually end was everything. If I had to work two jobs in perpetuity I'm not sure I could handle it.
I have taken on some seasonal jobs, so it is always temporary work. Helps me that there is an end to it, because having multiple jobs is so much to deal with. But also you need to live and that is getting harder and harder in this current world.
I have had 1 job and 3 side hustles for two years. I just got down to one job/one side hustle. It’s mind boggling because I have more time but I’m nervous a lot about bills.
It's so mind blowing to me that this has become the norm for most people. I am glad I am not only feeling this way and it makes feel a little bit better knowing there can be a light at the end of the tunnel
