Anybody have a recommendation for an org structure site/program? Our group is tired of using PowerPoint. I really just want something where I can visually see the structure and then save it until we have to do something for the client in the future.

Visio works well

Seconding visio. Steeper learning curve than PowerPoint but so much more powerful for structure charts in particular. An MS office product so presumably easy to integrate since I imagine just about every law firm uses office

Jigsaw is incredible

Jigsaw is the only way to go. They just added steps functionality too and it saves SO much time. Highly recommend checking it out

Have used Jigsaw at my old firm, can confirm was fantastic. New firm is trialling StructureFlow, don't like it so far.

Jigsaw is developing a great product. In most respects, it’s superior to Visio and PP. they cut the design time at least in half than when using PowerPoint

Pen and paper is pretty decent

Honestly if you just want something for yourself at this point, this is a great route. Visio looks great, but IMO is more of a pain to deal with than PowerPoint.

If you want something basic and easy using tools you already have, excel has org charting functionality. It’s one of the smart art options.

My manager kept telling me how much he appreciate what I did for the team and he was only expecting less than 30% of what I do for them. I feel like he was lying and they wanted to pay more to get better applicants

I know the thought process and stuff but 'I' wasn't the one who did that part in the project. How to convince them that I could do the job without taking credit of others.

Curious as to how many deals at once is typical for a first year associate to take on (M&A, mostly private equity clients). Deal size is lower middle market and I’ve worked on deals ranging from $1-$110M. 2 deals at once is plenty for me, but it seems like my peers are able to take on more than that at once and still do fine. Maybe I’m just a slow learner/out of my league at the big law firm I’m at.

-Ability for the Sponsor/Fund to invest directly, indirectly and in equity, debt, Pref, etc.
To me this seems extremely cumbersome and would require multiple classes of (cont’d)
