Can someone please for the love of god help me figure out how I can pay less income taxes? I only make 88k and I put the 12k standard deduction but I’m still getting taxed 27% of my paychecks! My sign on bonus (20 even) a few months ago was taxed nearly 45%! Excuse my ignorance, but am I doing something wrong? Will increasing deductions help or should I increase the withholdings? Is this normal?! Thanks for any help/advice, it’s greatly appreciated.

Have been hit w fraudulent charges in FL via Chipotle app; rec'd email that said sender knew my password (was partially correct) & was going to send nude pics of me to my contacts; rec'd email from Best Buy about my email being used to reset my pword (don't have BB acct) & today was notified of a declined transaction in Canada (I'm in TX). Marital advice from points 🐠 please! I’m the points / rewards person in our house. Spouse couldn’t care less.
