The problem is that you're only looking at comp as a baseline. If done right, trying opens up new opportunities and networks which you can then leverage for more comp. But that's indirect.

You spend 40-60 hours a week doing your job. Hopefully it’s fulfilling beyond money - or it sounds like a miserable life.

That was my thought too. I guess I’ll start job searching.

I actually feel like I'm paid too much (not that I'm complaining). I see how hard my parents work for <$50k and don't think I deserve to making 4x what they do. Maybe 2.5x for the stress, responsibility, and extra hours. So I guess I'm not really motivated either way to work harder ..

C1 I’m in the same boat. I already make 65% of what my dad makes and more than my mom makes so I just feel lucky. They both work tons of hours and very hard so I feel fortunate.

Got an offer from Guidehouse as a senior consultant in HIA back in January. The recruiter is MIA and not coming up with joining date and giving reasons like other PRoject team was put on bench and they will be allocated first before giving joining dates to the new hires. What should I do...if the recruiter comes back with the joining date. Should I join? What is the business situation at Guidehouse right now?

Deloitte Moms, I remember seeing in some other bowl that Deloitte gives 200 dollars gift card or vantage points for new moms. I am having trouble finding the information in DeloitteNet or TOD. Are we still getting it or was it a past promotion kind of thing? Appreciate any guidance on this.

Does anyone else feel like their burn-out cycle is shorter? It used to take me about 2 years of grind before I hit a burn-out phase where I needed to do some serious recuperating. It feels like I'm at 3 months now, or even less. I've already spoken to my wife about building quarterly mini-vacations into my schedule just to keep my energy up. And by burn-out, I mean you're at the point that every single ball you are juggling can drop and you get fired and almost see that as a blessing.
