Anyone else have an internal meltdown because for the first time you realized your brain thinks differently than others, processing things differently & you visibly experienced it that you allowed your thinker self to ruminate..

YES! I cannot tell you how many times I have crashed out over this. I wish that people could understand what it is like to be in my brain for a day.

I wish I could experience what neurotypical people's thought process is like. I find it really hard to imagine how else it could be other than what I have going on.

Hey, don’t be too hard on yourself. It’s a good thing you know now. Yea it sucks. Reading your brain isn’t broken was an eye experience for me. I blamed my upbringing primarily, but I was glad that now I have path forward

Not really, even though I received a (very late) in life diagnosis, I always knew I didn’t operate the same as everyone else from early on in my childhood. That brings challenges, but it was never a thought that I functioned like everyone else.

For me it was actually a relief once I found out I had it. Prior to that I always thought something was wrong with me and didn’t understand why. So I’d beat myself up how I’m different, or how my brain is so loud, or how people think I’m weird blah blah blah. Now I understand. I understand my traits. And how i think. Im fully aware. And that’s helped me a lot shift my perspective. And now if you ask me, I actually think people with ADHD are far superior to neurotypical people. And I’m not saying this in a condescending way. I just think the pros of ADHD are powerful if utilized with awareness.

100% true. My experience. If my spouse is tested, he would be too and he is one of the most successful and smartest person in the room. I have learned to come up with ways to address the shortcomings, not always successful but sometimes awareness is a great solution

Yep, but its a strength not a weakness. Took several melt downs to figure that out
