Anyone else out there who has practically given up on applying and is hoping the job market just picks up at some point, or changes so that it isn't so competitive?

After a year of applying regularly, focusing on jobs that I feel overlap well with my experience and resume, I've only gotten a reply once.

I have my application process pretty dialed in; I craft a resume per job application. But it usually takes about an hour to do it right.

Doesn't seem worth the effort anymore.

What can you do if you’re getting interviewed by the same person who didn’t choose you in the first place?
Context: I applied for a position a while back and got interviewed, but didn’t go to the next round. I found the same position open again a month later at a different location and applied. Almost immediately, I was called for an interview, but with the same interviewer. What does this mean? Is this going to get awkward?

Does your salary band change if interviewing for a purely remote role? They pay should be based on my location, not the company's, right?

Had an interview with Hexaware and 3 days back HR1 called me and said she will send the offer letter next week. 2 days back HR2 called me and said a client interview is scheduled for you and I attended that. Now if I fail to clear the client interview round, will I not receive the offer letter that is promised by the HR1?

Is it common to negotiate software engineer salary at smaller companies? I know it’s common at FAANG, but what about for companies with around 200 engineers? I am not sure if u should attend the interview or not at GDS.
When I shared this scenario with my EY IN HR, she said please don't attend it may create conflict and you may also get blacklisted.

EY GDS HR is like, you can attend the interview, there's no problem at all. We don't have such a policy. Please suggest what decision I should make.
