Is anybody else the opposite of this? Very good at getting up to speed and delivering new types of deliverables but then gets bored with the minutiae after a month
That's exactly me. I'm surprised we're not alone. We should make a bowl
I've been struggling with this myself.
Overtime time, I found it helps to create goals at the start of the project to ensure you're progressing toward mastering core consulting fundamentals: building slides, data modeling, and storytelling. During the project, set up check-ins with your Project Manager to get their perspective on how you're doing.
Then, at the end of the engagement, reflect on what went well and what could have gone better.
Finally, before the start of your next project, ask better questions that will provide you with the knowledge, context, and resources to succeed from the start. Questions like: "Are there slides that explain our client's business operations?" "What role do you need me to play to support this engagement?" "Who are our stakeholders and what is their communication etiquette?" may be helpful
I’ve tried to ask these questions but there is such pressure on resources that the answers aren’t always true
I’m the opposite. Love something new and learning all about it to deliver in the short time and move on.
You are my brother. If it was up to me I would cut deadlines by half just for the thrill of it.

I love starting new projects. Clean slate and some time to chill before major deliverables are due
It’s super tough! I have been bouncing around so much the past couple of months that each time I finally start to get the hang of something I roll to something new. Any tips to handle this?
I hate it but I do think it can help me keep learning. Sometimes it feels like it’s detrimental for my development though as I have no time to learn / add value.
Nah the first week is the best. No one knows what kind of shit will pop out.
Afterwards it gets boring. I with I only worked the first week of every project.
