I feel like I need to befriend them and develop a more friendly relationship. I want to be professional though. I also really need to get closer to the partner bc of my visa issue and I think partners are the key people to vouch for you. But I don’t want it to seem weird..

Started an in-house job after leaving a firm. I love it. Looking back on my old job, I now realize how gaslighted and manipulated I was. People at the new job treat me with such respect, it feels amazing (also sad that my bar is now so low).

As a result, I'm super motivated to do a good job and deliver, but this is a BIG job, one where I can't come close to clearing my plate every week. I'm working 12 hour days to be as responsive as I can, but I know that's a recipe for burnout. Advice?

Heard that 485 approval back log is clearing up and people are getting theirs approved much quicker than the 8-14 months indicated on the gov’s website - any truth to this? We filed our 485 earlier this month - would it be insane to hope that we’ll receive our GC before the end of 2022? Filed under eb2. I130 already approved. Priority date current.

I am now a US citizen and want to sponsor GC for my mom in India. Would you guys recommend applying at the Consulate in India that may take 2-3 years? Or getting her here first on B1 visa and then applying for a GC that may take less than an year. Lawyer suggested that though 2nd is doable it is risky, in case she has to go back to India during her GC processing or in case her petition does not get approved then she may have overstayed.
