Anyone go down the rabbit hole of exploring other opportunities (interviewing and such) but ultimately decide to stay at your firm? What made you stay put?

some of “the devil you know is better than the devil you do don’t”, the people in my team that I like, and oh I leveraged my almost leaving for a visa at the previous firm. Also I only have a couple more years till I want to leave biglaw and tbh starting new all over sounds exhausting. So…depends on the person!

Lol this. Also, the negatives at my current firm will exist at many of the other jobs I’ve looked at. Plus I’d risk not liking my coworkers, whereas I really enjoy my coworkers now.

I'm at a small firm and I've looked around a few times, since I have always had some frustrations with small firm life. Each time I looked around, I discovered that my frustrations exist at pretty much every small and midsize firm, and that I was taking the good things at my firm for granted (2/3 the hours for 2/3 the pay turns out to be a good deal).

I started out in a bad economy and fell into a small firm and for a long time I wanted to move into big law. After a few years, the opportunity was there for big law or in house, and I realized I didn't really want it. The grass isn't always greener.

Internship Program Help: Hi Everyone! I’ve never worked for a company with any type of internship program at all, let alone a really successful one. My new company thrives off our internship program, with many of our managers/directors having started as one themselves. I’d like to create more of a structure to this program but not even really sure where to begin. Also don’t want to bite off more than I can chew, but would love to hear some tips or even better, maybe have a quick chat if willing?

Has anyone made the transition from non-profit and small firm practice to federal government, big law, in-house? I’ve been practicing in both big law (many yrs ago) and now in-house for over 10 years. Quite often I struggle because I don’t find work fulfilling. I’ve been in industries that allegedly have greater cause (healthcare) but was eventually disappointed by the corporate bureaucracy and went to a cutting-edge tech company for intellectual stimulation. Still I struggle. Should I try public interest? Not that I don’t need the money but it’s hard to work when I am so detached and find it meaningless
