I had mind on the high deductible plan. We paid just below 9k out of pocket the year our baby was born. This does not include our contributions from pay check. I'd probably stick to High Deductible if I had to do it again since the low ppo meant more money from paycheck and didn't let me do the hsa.
Damn that’s a lot… what’s your deductible? What would other deductible be?
What’s the out of pocket max and the deductible? So much can go wrong sometimes the higher premiums make the PPO worth it.
Personally I’d look into PPO a bit more. I’ve realize hsas are really there more for long term health care if you manage it properly. But if your happy with it all good here.
I paid 10K out of pocket max the year of child birth, which was my max out of pocket, and I put 7K in HSA because I had high deductible plan

We did. High risk pregnancy so we blew through the deductible pretty quick. Birth wasn’t too much. For us, there is basically no scenario that HD isn’t a better choice. The math just doesn’t add up. Prob unique to D though.
Doesn’t add up at EY either.
