I’ve had a “fun money” Fidelity invt acct for years and have finally come to the realization that it’s a total waste as I never keep a close enough eye on the individual stocks I buy to exit timely and actually make $$. The downturn has brought it into clearer focus. I have about $8k in cash in it. Any recos for a good mutual fund / ETF to put it in? Could go with a standard S&P index, but curious any ideas. But issue is they have give offer for contact period of 6 month and mention that they will make me permanet employee of EY after 6 month contact if performance is good.

I am interested in profile but sure whether they will really make me permanent after 6 month contract is over.
