Anyone have any feedback about working in-house at Amazon? Culture, Salary, etc?

I’ve heard from friends the culture isn’t great but that’s second hand knowledge. There have been a few articles written about it I’d suggest looking at those. And maybe see if you can talk to someone on the in-house team who will give you honest feedback

Rough culture. They bring in all attys at same level and start a cage match. Values can be used as a weapon to justify nearly anything. (There are a few NYT articles on this but I also know it to be so.) Incentive comp vesting is back-end loaded (vests mire in later years, less in earlier ones). Think twice before moving to Seattle--market is flooded w Amazon or ex-amazon attys who desperately want out.

Amazon does have a fair number of jobs outside of Seattle. Specifically, there’s some studio-like work in LA.

Considering a mini pivot from growth/performance marketing to a product marketing role and hoping for a gut check from those who have done both. I'm trying to move away from the transactional culture of growth marketing, which feels like a numbers game. I'm also intrigued by product management and user research, but not ready to invest in that bigger leap, so product marketing seems like a half-step to get more exposure to those teams. Am I on the right track here? Any advice on the transition?

I accepted a job from a place my friend works. She got me in and I'd be dropping a title level but making the same $ as my previous role. I accept and 1 day later my #1 on the list came through. better title, pay and benefits. The first company is stoked to have me and everyone is nice. I'm sure on the culture. I reached out to company 2 the week before I accepted this offer and they weren't ready, but now they are. They seem great, but so does everyone when you meet them. What do I do?

I'm in a awkward spot. I barely do anything at work while I'm very well paid (most likely overpaid) and our agency is happy with me and my partner. Until here everything's a dream. But we barely do anything so it's almost impossible to progress and go anywhere else, never mind for the same salary. The agency is one of the most famous ones, the client one of the biggest in the world, but small briefs and small budgets. Also, our CD and CCO are kind people, but not good enough to look up to them
