Still WFH? What are other chambers doing for task management? Our chambers has been keeping up with assignments, incoming emails needing judge’s eyes, and written orders, all through Microsoft Planner. We share PDFs through Sharepoint folders. Although we still email draft orders back and forth, the system seems to work well enough. We still aren’t operating at our previous capacity because it takes 10x the number of steps to get a motion heard or an order entered—90% of our workload.

Employer is trying to force me (disabled using a walker and immunocompromised) to return to work at the office after WFH efficiently (covering 2 roles!) For 2 years. I actually can't even do my job from the office. Office isn't ADA compliant and my walker doesn't fit. Some employees aren't vaxxed and mask mandates are being removed. If you are a first year in a stub year, and significantly under billable hours requirement, do firms typically still give pro rated bonus? Do first year stub associates really ever hit their pro rated hours in those 2-3 months?

The requirements are insane to officially “resign” - draft a motion, pay a fee, send proof of service - I honestly do not know what this nonsense means, I’m not a litigator for a reason. I realize sheer number of cases doesn’t tell the whole story… obviously you can be buried on one massive case. I’m finding it hard to jump back and forth between everything I have going on right now, though, but I don’t know if the answer is to just deal with it.

Can you name a firm (preferably NY office) that lets its associates work from a different country with no issues? The mid-size firm I’m currently at has been very flexible during covid but I’m looking to change firm (biglaw). Since my family is abroad I find it extremely valuable to be able to do this (I did this even before covid for a couple of weeks, twice a year).
