How to ask for a raise when you have more responsibility ?
Is it normal for people to ask for a raise when more responsibility/task fall under them? My company is going through separation and unfortunately my team is the one getting separated, I have to take on responsibility of another 3 people and continue to deliver the same after separation… how will you start this conversation with your manager ? We recently sleep trained our 7 month son. He went from waking up multiple times during night and taking only 30 minute naps 3 times during day (most cases nursed to sleep or rocked to sleep or took a drive) to sleeping 12 hours at night without interruption and two 2 hour naps and one 45 minutes nap during day. We both love that he is getting enough sleep and well rested on one hand. On the other hand, we are now wondering if he is sleeping way too much.. contd…

My mom’s friend was supposed to come to my wedding in a week and just cancelled. I’ve never met her but my mom insisted she be invited. This person already sent us a check which we deposited already; we already sent a thank you card. This person left me a VM saying they were sorry they couldn’t come; they have leukemia and their Dr. didn’t approve. Do I need to call them back? I would like to avoid an awkward phone call about personal matterwith a stranger but also don’t want to be insensitive.
