It is low esp in California or Seattle compared to what you could get at other firms. I was with Capgemini a year ago and in a tier 2 city as a Sr Consultant, I was at 134k.
That would be on par with what they’re offering, however you can get more with other firms. I would also advise you to do some research into Caps culture and overall direction of the firm. It might not be the upward move you are looking for....YMMV
Then it’s good. 3 years exp and 130k base is solid. I have friends working in tech companies and making 120-140k with around the same experience. It’s good 👌🏻
Curious to hear too. I’ve spent some time first within CC and later with I&D. Vastly different experiences and trajectories. But an interesting opportunity either way OP. The work will be quite entrepreneurial vis a vis Accenture, but also with limited guidance and at times intense culture / expectations, worth looking into the data that’s out there on your principal and his reports before signing. Ask why other people have left in the past, and see if they provide an honest answer. Good luck! And congrats :)
@K1. But you don’t know about the number of years this person might have worked? I feel if it’s 2-3 years, then it’s good. If it’s 5+, then it’s less.
@ZS: 3 yrs consulting (2 yrs as a Data Scientist)...so ya, you might be correct with your statement
@Pwc: ya, you’re right about culture. Sounds like they don’t have many Data Scientists on the west coast so I could feel isolated
The OP has no way to confirm the honesty of any statements regarding people who left in the past. For all we know this principle could be the savior of all data scientists everywhere
I have many thoughts
