I have approved I-140. Indian nationality so priority date not close to current. If I switch employer, does my employer need to apply for PERM and i140 again as soon as I join, to get H1B extensions?

Anyone else get frustrated when the partner brags about their billable hour amount for the month? Like congrats, you get to bill .2 for each piece of mail. You also get .2 for every letter your secretary types up as a "form letter" you never even look at. As an Associate, I don't get those easy/automatic hours.

"People just want it to work" is a thing clients have said about the product the company I work for makes. It's true. And it's all over. I usually think it's because Agile's method is what everyone thinks works but so much stuff across all tech areas seems to be released broken and then never fixed or fixed way too slowly. My company is in need of a update online, could use your opinions! We need to better showcase our culture (caring, supportive, fun, intelligent IT industry leaders) as well as diversity. We are predominantly white still but making strides to improve here. What’s the best way to approach? I don’t want to seem disingenuous or that we are singling out our diverse employees (asking for photos). We have a remote and on-site workforce about 350+ EEs. Non white EEs make up about 35% of the company rn.

Feeling very frustrated right now…company talks a big game about DEI internally, while requiring new hires to move to Texas/Arizona, while the company’s PAC donates to politicians pushing extremist, regressive, anti-woman and anti-LGBT laws

They want to encourage us to “bring our whole self to work” while putting us in situations where we can’t be our whole self.

Been for a company for over 2years. The executive team is very much a boy's club. There are a few women in management roles but zero ethnicity diversity there. I raised my concern to HR in feb. And they are just now deciding to do something about it. They want me (white female) to put together a diversity committee. Any suggestions on how to go about it? How to attract volunteers to the committee? I want to make sure I get the right people involved in this, to push for changes.

Working at a company and they can’t seem to hold on to their female, black and people of color employees. I blinked and 3 of the people who were in my onboarding class were either fired or they left. For context I’ve been in company less than a year and there are people who have been in the company 25yrs. I’m thinking of cutting loose before it gets to my turn.

How do you deal with your “mentor” being threatened by your performance and gatekeeping information from you? Then turning around and giving you shit for not knowing things… but they don’t tell you anything and there is no way for you to know. My learning and development is being hindered and I’ve felt this for a long time, but coworker just confirmed this is the case. Now that I know I’m not “crazy” for thinking this, how should I approach this?

I am frustrated as a Gay Woman who has given her all for 30+ years grinding to be the best. I have been in closet, out of closet, in-between and am tired of it. I want to be VALUED as a human being. I have gone from Rock Star to problem when people "found out". I have trained and promoted hundreds of people and been passed over for promotions because of not being a man. I have trained men with less experience, worse results only for them to move forward. If Diversity is important...prove it!
