Got put on PIP for internal politics reasons. Got a new job within that 2 months that paid 20% more. Planned to put in my 2 weeks that following Monday, but Friday morning they called me in and let me go while offering 1 month severence. Said I understood and politely left. Took a nice 2 week paid vacation and joined the new company as planned.

Let go for performance at the end of October last year, and received an offer for FAANG at the end of January with ~50% raise. It feels hopeless, but start updating your resume and LinkedIn, and sharpen your networking skills. Best of luck on your search!

I had a coworker who was on the way to being fired. PM didn’t like him, other teammates thought he was kind of weird, got reported for dumb things but he got a job somewhere else and has had a really good career there. Sometimes the fit isn’t right

So possibly silly refinancing question: my understanding of refinancing is that if interest rates lower, you basically start a new mortgage with a new bank at lower rates and pay off your old mortgage. With this, there's some closing costs associated.

Assuming your old bank doesn't want to lose your business (aka, interest payments), why don't they offer to simply reduce the interest rate on your mortgage to what they're currently offering customers?

I had a tenant start a 1 yr lease on March 1. They already are interested in renewing for another year. Would you raise rent? I'm inclined to leave it the same because we're both taking a risk that at the end of the year rents could be up or rents could be down. They are good tenants and take good care of the property. Fwiw I net about $1,000/month positive cash flow after mortgage/taxes/insurance/how/reserve as is.

I was not called for an interview or even a discussion and yet, my profile was rejected. Any reason why?
