Anyone switch jobs and then 6mo later find out it’s not what you were expecting? How did you handle this?

Yes, five months in and actively looking! No shame in jumping ship if it’s not what you expected or want.

Yep, it was a few years ago and I left after 6 months (started looking sooner) because it was awful. Stayed in my next role a few years so that 6 months doesn’t really matter on my resume but it would’ve probably killed me if I stayed. So glad I got out.

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. Is this normal in the entertainment world? Any suggestions?

Hi all!
Would love some insight on how you went from an HR assistant/coordinator to an HR Generalist. I’ve been in the HR world for 8 years, and only in the last 2-3 have I really done real HR work. The first company I was at didn’t have a solid HR team so I don’t really count that. I feel like I’m ready to take on more responsibility and learn more. And of course make more money.

I have looked into getting SHRM certification. But should I go back to school and get my masters in Hr?

Most titles I've found interesting are along the "medical assistants" role, but don't fit the bill cause I don't have an MA license
