OP, the A&M model is slightly different from AlixPartners - A&M definitely is a normal partnership with equity/shares. Yes there is skin in the game. What you don’t have is a ridiculous big4 type pension. Two sources of A&M income are percentage of revenue and dividends of sorts, the latter may vary on business units. Different business units can have different share values.
EY-P1, Does A&M using a tiering or band structure for its MDs (equity partners)? Do A&M MDs get to acquire more shares/equity each year if they are solid performers?
We are a true partnership. Every MD is an equity partner and has ownership in the firm
No they are two different things. You have your cash comp and you are offered to buy equity in the firm. They are ways of financing the equity over time
