Are companies/ firms taking up to a month or more before deciding their new hire these days? I’ve had two close people that this happened to. I interviewed at two firms, one of which I made to the final round and yet I haven’t heard back in 2.5 weeks. No communication whatsoever. I’m continuing my job search but this is…not a good look. I rather receive a rejection email than to be ghosted or put on hold with no communication. Please let me know if anyone experienced the same issue

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I already applied for unemployment but doctors are telling me I’ve got 10-14 weeks left in this pregnancy.. so stressed having twins and being unemployed, no maternity leave, no paychecks coming in, and I’ve been applying but not a single interview.. just ugh. 😭

Accounts in forbearance, even administrative forbearance, are calculated at a higher monthly payment by the underwriter.

Is it worth applying for a position with a firm you are directly adverse to on a matter or will conflicts definitely keep you from joining?

I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Should I hold out for the offer or is 1+ week a sign that I won’t be selected?
