Compensation

Are external SA and M hires at Strategy& ‘forced in’ into the same salary as current employees at that particular level or is there usually wiggle room with regards to base.

No wiggle room with regards to base, only wiggle room is which cohort you are placed in.

Also - Our compensations is extremely competitive (better than MBB). So being “forced into” a cohort is not a bad thing.

MBB does profit sharing by dropping an additional sum of money into retirement. This is on top of the cash bonus that they receive. At the cash comp level, S& may be competitive with MBB (certainly not at the top) for SA and Mgr level, but they are behind in total comp due to not an insignificant amount of money coming from MBB’s profit sharing.

I think the people delegated to the overnight projects should now be deemed essential employees. There should be a special compensation provided, once it is completed. I know there is a stimulus

Some people seem to think that folks will never be comfortable in an office setting again, which if true, means the same people will never be comfortable at a sporting event, museum, concert, etc. I understand that concern at the moment. But, if a vaccine becomes available, how many of you here will be comfortable with a return to “normal” life? Life eventually went back to normal after the Spanish Flu pandemic. Is it foolish to assume that will be the case here?

I’m a high performer with strong scatter plots and manager remarks, but worried about my job given the current COVID 19 situation and the firm considering layoffs.
