Which agencies are going through layoffs
Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Nah, this is where the grown ups who know what layoffs actually look like call it like they see it. Counseling out low performers and people with low utilization whose skillset doesn’t appear to be in demand is not the same as layoffs. Otherwise, we would be in a constant state of layoffs.
The only exception is FS, but their business model is feast or famine and unfortunately FS people don’t understand that the rest of the firm doesn’t revolve around them
Source: everyone on my practice is deployed to at least 3 projects. We literally can’t hire people fast enough.
Is this where Pwc pretends there so great despite being a victim of constant layoffs?

Low performers get the boot though, as it should be.
We do up or out. So that includes out. We don't do lay offs outside of that.

There are no widespread layoffs - PwC’s revenue and headcount for the last 5 years is public info.
