Hi! I just accepted a Relationship Banker II role in Allen, TX. My offer letter was 50k base and 1k guaranteed commission a month first year. I just graduated w a degree in Business Administration. Basically the info I got on how commission works was pretty vague. Anyway I wanted to see what someone I’m their 1st or 2nd year can realistically expect to on average make in commission a year in this role. Also what do bonuses in the role look like? I’m hoping to just hear some ballpark numbers! JPMorgan Chase JPMorgan Chase

Recommend avoiding Canberra unless you have an Australian citizenship as most jobs will need a clearance.
Sydney and Melbourne are probably dominated by financial services and telecom work and Perth will be strong in mining
Thank you for the information.
I am trying to get in the automotive industry like Tritium.
I’m confused that should I risk everything and go to Australia?
I have heard that I won’t be able to find anything while not being in Australia. The only chance I have is if I leave my current job and go there to find something. Risk to reward ratio is too much
The automotive industry died in Australia in the last decade (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automotive_industry_in_Australia), and all cars are now imported.
It’s tough to be hired from overseas, but I was able to do it (and during the pandemic border closures). Most employers are not willing to sponsor, so I’m surprised you have not been getting more traction since you have the right to work in Australia and electrical engineer is on the Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/employing-and-sponsoring-someone/sponsoring-workers/pmsol) so there is more need than available workers.
Seek (https://www.seek.com.au/) is the most popular job posting platform. Applying to jobs via Seek and trying to get on the radar of electrical engineering recruiters is probably your best bet. As I said above, it’s very surprising that you are not getting more traction. However, you will likely struggle to go from electrical engineer to consultant in the Australian market — Australian employers really value direct previous experience and are much less willing to facilitate a pivot.
I don’t think we have much of an automotive industry here at all. Or manufacturing in general. You could potentially use your engineering background to pivot into consulting as they often like engineers.
Partners in performance pays very well and from what I’ve seen they love ex engineers. I think a lot of their work is in the mining sector.
I think at the end of the day is more about how well you sell yourself and your past experience. But yeah I don’t think there’s much happening in the automotive sector.
It’s either your approach or your work experience isn’t what they’re looking for. Maybe a cultural difference too.
I recommend you to network by talking to people at companies and see if they can refer you in, Will be much easier to get into companies with that kind of support especially as an international
