Lyft driver delayed picking me up 30 min, resulting in me canceling my ride and asking hotel to call me a “yellow taxi” to get to the airport because it was 5am and all ubers/lyfts were 15 min. Specifically said yellow. Hotel calls me a private lux SUV and the driver got out of the car to handshake the man who called and said hi (honestly money couldve been passed). I then get hit with a $180 ride. Marriott website says taxi should be $65. Should I complain or let it go?

The crazy thing is they were just named the best local municipality to work for. It's upsetting. They advertise a "culture" but don'tapply it. Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

Just a reminder that outside our bubble no-one really cares about firm prestige etc.

Anyone here worked at Accenture, D, etc doing tech implementations and then successfully moved to the actual vendor e.g. SAP, Workday, Salesforce? Feel like it's harder to get into those places

Why aren't more people going independent?? We have skills, we have a rolodex, surely we can earn a lot more doing independent consulting?????

New to consulting... If your project is likely to get an extended/new contract but you do not want to get extended with the project, do you have a lot of say in pushing back and saying no?
