Bro, I am straight up not having a good time.
But it’s just a job and I try to remember that I’m paid well to do a lot of things I don’t find especially difficult, so may as well do this until I can’t. You can do it! Or you can get a nice exit opp.

Oh I see. I fully get that. I’m so sorry SM1. I really hope you feel better soon.

Sorry to hear OP. Fwiw, it gets much better with time. You learn to deal with the stress and you learn to prioritize and say no where you need to and say yes where you need to and build the right relationships that pull you along. Every job has its challenges and imho there is no career that doesn’t come with stress. To manage my stress I exercise, I meditate and I remind myself that at the end of the day it’s just a job, one that I care for dearly, but it’s a job. And that every crisis no matter how deep and severe eventually passes.
Stay strong OP
Sorry to hear it, OP, but you are not alone! it helps me to constantly remind myself that it’s just a job and that i work to live (and not vice versa. Also that what i cherish most is my friends and family outside of work, and none of those people would think less of me if i had a bad day at my job.

You sound like me 3 months into it, miserable and can’t wait to get out. 5 years later… Still here. Give it some time lol
It's a very long and arduous journey but has significant upside if you make it to the partner level. It's not for me, either. I want more stability, more WLB, more long-term ownership of something rather than just moving from study to study. I'm jumping into industry - probably going to work for one of my clients. If I don't like it, I figure I can always bounce back to consulting.
I quit McKinsey over the summer and it was the best decision- I highly suggest taking pto/time off and job hunting (or just taking a step back to decide if its worth it for you to stay)
2.5 years into consulting coming from industry. It’s not great, but I also learn a lot and get paid well. Also I haven’t found anything really that interest me outside yet so here to stay.
Thanks all for the thoughtful comments. Have to remind myself of the quote "this shall too pass"
