Mid law probably. You’re still selling your hours so you can get paid for working around the clock.
At any in-house role you’re a cost center…

MAANG, HAKUNA MATANA… same diff
How much do midlaw partners make? At large company you can make 400-600k total comp below the GC level. I feel like comp doesnt dictate these decisions but more what lifestyle you want. Some ppl like billing and being at a firm, while others hate billing and what a 9-5 gig.
Yes this is true but large pub cos move slow and you typically won’t see 400 until maybe 10-12 yoe and 500-600 until 15-20 yoe. You’ll likely see those number much soon at a firm.

Honestly surprised there isn’t more debate on this one.
Midlaw. Inhouse comp is trash these days. I’ve seen GC pay at less than 300k all in
They’re all small companies. GC at a large company = connections these days
I moved from a MidLaw boutique in-house and got a raise, but the boutique struggled to keep me even 50% busy, so pay was low.
What is mid-law partner pay?
I think the potential is greater at mid law, but the reality is a mixed bag. I'm in house and make more than all of my friends in midlaw and work half as much. But that's just my sample size and I think it depends on the practice areas and market in general.
