Off topic: I am stuck in a service based company for last 4 years in a shitty project. The work I do can be done by a 12th grader. Now i want to move out by learning something new & changing my domain. But the thing is I am not able to study because I am stuck in a comfort zone and learning new thing gives me bad anxiety. It feels like I will never learn & be forever stuck here. Pls help on how to come out of comfort zone, learn things and apply for the job. Tata Consultancy Infosys Wipro

OP - I’m with you. People seem to think it’s fine to have their speakerphone on anywhere including restrooms and airport gates (imagine the noise the person on the other end hears). Playing videos on their phone on the plane without headphones or ear buds. Playing their hotel tv loud enough for me to hear it in my room.
Silence is golden. When I’m home I don’t turn on the tv or radio. Blissful silence.
Flight attendant had to tell the guy seated two rows behind me to use headphones while watching Van Halen videos. Music was blaring. FA explained the concept of “shared public space” . Where do these people come from? And can we send them back?
I really dislike the people who use the public restroom as a phone booth. I actually had someone get indignant with me because I flushed during her conversation. So I flushed a few more times.

Sometimes I wish I were more oblivious. Being hyper self aware is really exhausting
we must work in the same office
I assume this is an introversion thing, so who can relate?
I just karate-chop those folks right in the back of the knee
Definitely relate to this. I’ll never take a personal call at my desk either and always have my phone on silent and am mortified if it makes a sound :-)
D1: we have started sending these people to the White House.
Yah I almost think they are asserting dominance when they do those things. Like you’re the people who get quiet to be considerate of them, and their conversations are the ones that matter. Pisses me off.
