Midwest is! And it's also cheap. As far as pros cons would need to know where. Some places are great, some blow.
I still have at least one more year before we leave and the thought of that is hard to stomach. The Midwest location will most likely be Dayton, OH and the closest EY office is in Cincinnati, but there's a Deloitte office in Dayton.
Thanks - as a senior it's hard to transition between firms. New audit methodology new audit tool etc...
So why would you switch firms if your concern is with SoCal culture for which you are leaving to the Midwest?
Deloitte tax isn't doing well. They're on a hiring freeze. We had someone transfer back to Chicago office when she was pregnant
OP, I work in the Columbus office. One of my best friends (and the smartest senior I've worked with) transferred to my office from Minnesota. Long story short, her now husband was stationed at the Air Force base in Dayton and she wanted to be close. She didn't care if she was in the Columbus office of Cinci office, she just wanted to be on Dayton clients (we have plenty of them). You don't have to switch firms. If you want some advice/help/contacts, ping me. Jeremy Hall. 🙂
