At a pre-litigation personal injury firm, if they offer to pay me a base salary of $55k plus get 10% of each settlement, is that a good salary for someone with a few years experience practicing law? Thanks!

I would say with a few years of experience I would say the base salary could be a little higher. Around 70k base would be more reasonable. I would ask what will be your pre-litigation case load because 10% of only 100 cases isn’t much, versus 350-400 cases.

I agree with this. Where are you located OP? That seems like a really low salary. I make that much as a paralegal, of course withut the 10% but I do get a pretty nice yearly bonus. I would think you would be making atleast 80k for that role depending on your location.

Anyone have advice for advancing in your current role? My co-worker was hired in at manager level but somehow “proved” he was actually doing director level work and got a title promotion and salary increase in less than a year. I also went above and beyond my job as well (covering for him for a month while he was away on paternity leave) while taking on other projects outside of my job title and got zip—no raise or recognition. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi guys currently I'm working in a project with very stringent timelines. Sometimes we need to put more than 13-14 hrs each day. There are 4 members in my team. Two are involved in database prt and me and my lead are involved in the front end and middle layer prt. Somehow my lead is not at all pleased with my work. And even if I try to talk to him for something he is completely rude. Sometimes it makes me that I m completely useless. Even the other team members are following the lead

Anyone know a Connecticut or 2nd circuit case for this rule? I can’t find one to save my life. A defendant generally is liable for all harmful results that are the normal incidents of and within the increased risk caused by their negligent acts. Hello All,
I am finishing up my second year of practice as a lawyer. I transitioned to plaintiffs pi work from a boutique commercial litigation firm. I like the work and not having to bill. The issue I am having is managing volume. I have about 150 active files some pre-lit and the rest are in litigation. Cases range in value from very small to low six figures. I also take the driver seat for the grunt work on the firms bigger cases which are at or near 7 figure value. I constantly feel (cont.)
