There are internal projects with limited travel. Cons - same hours with no travel perks
There are plenty of non traveling roles and any internal job loves getting consultants cause they are good.
Can always transition to the USDC model. Very little traveling.

DCI = Deloitte Consulting Innovation, includes the Greenhouse, iLab (I think), Emerging Technologies, etc.
USDC = US Delivery Center, it's basically the Associate model scaled up
We have an admin side of the house but you'll take a good pay cut to go there probably
Yes, switch to consulting methods and tools.
I know people that have gone from Tech and S&O to CM&T and DCI (and back) as well as HC to Recruiting. Can't speak to the pros or cons though, having never been interested in non-travel roles
Yes, have gone and returned. It was a great experience and gave me a fantastic network. Be prepared for annual justification of your role, though.
