Jewish parents, so always
^hahahaha same! Because that's the only person in the world to know just how invaluable you are 💙👌🏼
I told her yesterday.
Never stopped. They ask, I tell.
My mom never thinks I make enough and tells me to negotiate higher.
My mother grills me for salary, bonus, tax, savings and monthly spends. She usually get salary and maybe bonus if I'm in a good mood. It's never going to be enough... its always "well xyz makes 300k"... let's not forget xyz is 10 years older and and carrying debt for med school 🙄
My mom just wants to know I'm financially stable. We talk about income and taxes and investments every once in a while. It's no big deal.
When I moved from overseas to NY - she's suspicious about how I can earn 'so much' yet always be broke and accepting of a few small handouts from grandma...
Every time I get a raise, I tell her.
Spoke to her once in ten years!
I think she knew my initial offer/welcome letter, but after my first raise I stopped giving specifics...
After my first promo. It's none of their business, but they like to play guessing games. Now they think I make more than I actually do, which is even worse than telling them. They think I'm a cheap ass.
We discuss financial goals and she gives me her advice. But I had an aunt ask once and then it was awkward bc we make the same and she's double my age.

Why would you stop telling your salary?...
This is a great question. I think I stopped at 47,500. I was 26

I don't think I ever told my mom my salary. Never really thought much of it.
I'm 26. I told my last week.
Oh. I'm 27
