At what point in your career would someone be considered qualified enough to write their own business book? Like, when would I be considered an expert in my field?

I don’t know if you’ve heard of Amy Porterfield but she teaches individuals how to create online courses. I’m listening to her audiobook right now that’s called “ Two week notice” and in there she says that as long as you are 10% ahead of your audience when it comes to knowledge base you’re good. So to echo what she said, as long as you have an audience and you’re able to give them value, then you’re fine. All the best!! You’ve got this!

The “expert” is the person who knows the most about a subject in the room. So, when you get to expert status.

Should I quit to my current manager(5th so far) or wait after mid year performance review, when a new boss will take over my team? I'm thinking on giving them 2 months notice period. By contract is 1.

For those of you who made the switch to in house/corporate law, what was your experience like? Did you have to take a lower position to gain the experience or were you able to argue that your soft skills were transferable to in house? I’ve been in litigation for 15 years and I’m looking to make the switch. Ultimately, I’d like to get into Legal Ops, but feel getting some in house experience first would be beneficial.

Is it possible to find a good exit in a less populated area? I don’t want to be near a big city — I want a house and a big yard. But every single job that would be a good career move is in a big city. Do good jobs in small markets exist? How do you find them?

I’ve considered 100% remote roles, but it seems hard to progress in a career if I’m not physically present.

Here’s a hypothetical:

A company has 2 candidates, aged 25-30, equal in every respect save one’s a man the other’s a woman. Maybe the woman is a slightly better candidate overall. They’d have equal comp.

Company considers the woman a riskier bet due to possibility she’ll take maternity leave — and considers the man less risky for his ineligibility to take as much leave. 🤷
