At what salary point did you feel "content" if ever? At $90k, and I've always figured once I got to $200k I'd be "good" and chill out, thoughts on that?

$250k was my number and I felt like there really was nothing reasonable that I couldn't afford

Like PM1 mentioned, it really depends on where you live. If you live in NYC or SF, $250k doesn’t go a long way, but you can live very comfortably in other parts of the country. I would say where I am, the number is around $350k-$500k.

Geography and cost of living come into play as well, but $100k was a big psychological number for me. Once I did that, I started basing it on lifestyle impact more than the raw number personally
